Healthy Food When Sick? Nope.
So this week has been less than stellar. I woke up Monday morning with such a sore throat (just on my left side though). When I looked in the mirror my left side was so swollen that it was pushing against my little thing hanging down from the top of my mouth (Uvula) causing it to be crooked! I know, I know, too much information. I also know exactly why I am sick. Whenever I work with the babies I can expect to come down with some type of illness. Thank you snotty-nosed bundles of joy I love so much! Due to these wonderful little germ-infested beings I am destined to cough, sniffle, sneeze, blow, repeat. So, it's probably good I am staying away from sugar this week, right? WRONG. All of the things I crave when I have a super sore throat are completely sugar-laced. I had no idea. For example, I would love to be drinking some ginger-ale with ice through a pink straw. Or how about some red cubed jello or a firecracker popsicle!?!? Instead, I am drinking ice water, which never tastes good when you are sick, ever noticed that or is it just me? Tea is good too, but I cannot put honey in it, which would make it more appealing. I think I must have jinxed myself when I wrote that I have successfully curbed my sugar addiction. Who was I kidding? On a more positive note, Ryan did the sweetest thing when he brought my take-out pho the other night for dinner. Pho is a sure-fire way to make a crummy situation a little bit brighter!
